S.T.E.A.M.

Minds at work

S.T.E.A.M. stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math. At Zucker Jewish Academy, we acknowledge that these five areas of learning complement one another in numerous ways and provide the conditions for scientific observation, creative expression, and experimentation.

S.T.E.A.M. is a holistic approach to education that emphasizes hands-on learning and fosters collaboration, innovation, and problem-solving.

Through application, children are empowered and gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of concepts. S.T.E.A.M. provides a foundational understanding in each area and encourages students to apply this knowledge to real-world situations.

HOLISTIC EDUCATION

It all happens in the lab

S

Science

Students engage in scientific inquiry through experiments, observations, and research projects, fostering a deeper understanding of scientific concepts.

T

Technology

As our students progress through their years at Zucker Jewish Academy, our STEAM program offers the opportunity to incorporate cutting-edge technologies, such as coding and robotics, exposing students to real-world applications of technology and encouraging digital literacy.

E

Engineering

Hands-on projects in MakerSpace encourage students to design, build, and test solutions to real-world problems, developing engineering skills and a mindset of innovation.

A

Arts

Our Makerspace emphasizes creativity and artistic expression, allowing students to explore various artistic mediums and integrate art into their projects, promoting a STEAM approach rather than STEM alone.

M

Mathematics

Through measurements, calculations, and the application of mathematical concepts in their projects, students reinforce mathematical skills and see the practical applications of math in real-life scenarios.

ENHANCING THEIR WORLD

Our Commitment to
Fostering Skills

Our school is committed to fostering creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills through our dedicated MakerSpace. By providing students with opportunities to engage in hands-on projects, we aim to:
